Shipmates,
At our last meeting we had the honor of presenting all the winners of
the 2009 FRA Essay Contest. Last month, I listed the winners of the
Regional competition. Both young ladies won another $100 Savings Bond
for winning at the Regional Level, good luck to them as their essays
compete at the National Level. Again, congratulations to all the
winners.
At our next Branch meeting, we will be installing the officers for the
2010-11 year. Sorry to say that a motion was moved to hold all the
current officers to their office for the next term. Our Regional
President will be attending the meeting and we will have him do the
installation of officers.
Our branch membership is picking up and our great webmaster is on a
recruiting binge. At last count I believe he turned in 9 or 10
applications for membership....great going Pete. Also on the branch
level is the number of Shipmates attending. At the last meeting I
believe we had right at 15 members in attendance. We are now meeting at
the VFW Post 2224 in Puyallup and I feel that we are in a better site
than where we where at the Southend Neighborhood Center. I wish to thank
the Post Commander and the Club Manager for their generosity in making
available a very nice meeting hall.
